Huell holds a bachelor’s degree from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Miss., and a master’s degree from Kent State University in Ohio.  He has also completed graduate coursework in environmental studies at Louisiana State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in geospatial science at Mississippi State University.  His research is in the field of geosciences focusing on the "Comparison of Stochastic Modeling Methods to Minimize Uncertainty in Digital Elevation Data."

Huell and his wife, Quenita, reside in Vicksburg with their daughter, Kerri.

The ERDC is the premier research and development facility for USACE, with more than 2,500 employees, $1.2 billion in facilities, and an annual research program exceeding $1.5 billion. It conducts research in both military and civil works mission areas for the Department of Defense and the nation.
