More than 20 U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center employees volunteered during the past two months to help raise funds for the annual Relay for Life campaign and event held April 21 at Vicksburg High School.

Team ERDC walked the track all night and culminated in $4,673 being raised in support of cancer research and survivors. The event included food, live music, games and face painting among other activities.

Team ERDC took first place in the number of steps walked with Anthony Stevens trekking 25,459 steps, and placed third for the best fundraising booth.

Leading this year’s team were Shann Martin, captain, and Erin Mathews, co-captain, from the Directorate of Resource Management.

“Thanks to all the employees and their family members who came out to volunteer and support this successful event," Martin said.
