A relief portrait memorializes Confederate Brig. Gen. Martin Green, one of four Confederate generals killed in action during the campaign. Green’s last words disregarded the threat of enemy fire: “A bullet has not been molded that will kill me.” Union sharpshooters proved otherwise.
