USACE Public Works team prep for R&D upgrade
HANOVER, New Hampshire – USACE Public Works air conditioning technicians John Adams (left), Jim Crary (center), and Mike Sadonsky (right) remove air conditioning components from CRREL’s Cold Room Complex here May 3. Preparation work is on schedule for the partial infrastructure upgrade of the 50+ year-old facility that provides controlled environmental conditions down to -35C (-30F) degrees. The $750+K project (Section 219 / Operation & Maintenance funded) replaces nine of the 24-rooms with four stand-alone structures that will provide improved energy efficiency; and more accurate temperature control capability. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the FY 2017.
