Preparation work is on schedule for the partial infrastructure upgrade of the 50+ year-old facility that provides controlled environmental conditions down to -35C (-30F) degrees. The $750+K project (Section 219 / Operation & Maintenance funded) replaces nine of the 24-rooms with four stand-alone structures that will provide improved energy efficiency; and more accurate temperature control capability. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the FY 2017.
