 Leadership Development Program

Leadership Development and Mentoring are important to the ERDC

One of ERDC’s key priorities is to invest in its employees and develop future leaders through training and development activities as part of the ERDC Leadership Development Program (LDP). LDP provides ERDC federal employees with the opportunity to refine their leadership skills by applying them through direct interaction with ERDC leadership. Participation in the LDP also provides useful experience if an employee wishes to apply for Corps-wide leadership development activities.

Coaching and mentoring are essential to the success of a learning culture, and the development of leaders at all levels. Mentoring at ERDC benefits employees and enhances their professional careers and contributes to job satisfaction, growth and success.

 Mentoring Program

Coaching and mentoring are processes essential to the success of a learning culture and the development of leaders at all levels.  Creating a sustaining learning culture and developing future leaders are critical elements to achieving ERDC’s success.  For these reasons, an Integrated Product/Process Team was assigned the task of developing a mentoring program tailored to ERDC’s need for consistency coupled with flexibility. The result is ERDC-wide guidance for formal mentoring programs that meet each ERDC organization’s unique requirements.

The ERDC Mentoring Program benefits employees who volunteer to participate as well as the entire organization. It enhances the careers of our current employees, aids in their retention, contributes to employees’ job satisfaction and improves employee morale. It helps us recruit future staff.  Everyone benefits.

 The Graduate Institute

Did you know that ERDC will support you while you pursue your advanced degree (Masters and Doctorate)?  ERDC’s state of the art Graduate Institute (GI) provides graduate-level education through association with academic institutions.  Currently, the GI has active Educational Partnership Agreements with Alcorn State University, Hinds Community College, Louisiana State University, Mississippi College, Mississippi State University, Texas A&M University, Tulane University, University of Arkansas, University of Mississippi, University of Southern Mississippi, and Vanderbilt University, enabling ERDC employees to earn academic credit and graduate degrees in a multitude of STEM areas and business fields.  Employees may also take classes in a non-degree status for additional training.
